Build Behaviours. Build Bones
A structured pathway for improving #BoneHealth based on the Build Behaviours Build Bones method.
Founder of Build Behaviours Build Bones
Dr Ruth White
Welcome, I’m Dr Ruth White, PhD
I worked as a clinical physiotherapist, face-to-face, for almost 40 years.
I also live with low bone density.
Now, I help others in their bone health journey.
So, what is different here?
For patients, I help you make a personalised, evidence based #BonePlan that is simple enough to repeat.
2. For clinicians, I help you become qualified in the B.O.N.E.S method and confident to offer #BoneScience in your clinical environment.
Next step: Scroll down to read the Two descriptions below
and join me online today.
I look forward to meeting you soon, Ruth
Member, Australasian Metabolic Health Society.

1. Step-by-step Foundational Workshop for women with low bone density + curious clinicians not ready for Intensive training
Are you wanting a professional to guide you on your journey to better #BoneHealth?
Hi, I’m Dr Ruth White, join me inside the workshop where I provide clear, scientific step-by- step guidance to preserve and build your bone density. This is the program I follow myself.
The workshop will teach you exactly how to get start - safely - from wherever you are, right now. I will also teach you the evidence of how to improve your bone health with loading and adequate nutrition.
This workshop is also suitable for clinicians who want a “light” course in bone health - before diving into the intensive clinician facing certification in BONES.
Further, women who are wanting to preserve bone density e.g. after a cancer diagnosis are finding the workshop helpful.
Your workshop purchase comes with lifetime access to:
• Step-by-step short filmed lessons. Save and continue the workshop at any stage. Full written lessons and downloads. The films are not closed captioned.
• I teach the importance of two protected strength sessions most weeks
• I teach how to manage pain +bone health
• I teach how to progress safely
• I guide around bone nutrition from a metabolic perspective
There are currently 16 downloads which available immedicately after purchase.
I answer questions from you via email once you have commenced the course. I have some capacity to update the written course materials if there is information that you specifically request me to research for you.
Each lesson is deliberately short so you won’t be overwhelmed. It will take you around six hours to work through all the lessons in the workshop. It is not a lecture. It is a planned series of lessons.
The workshop also teaches what to do when things come off the rails - whatever the reason may be.
I can be contacted prior to starting the course at behaviourandbones@gmail.com if there is something that I have not answered here.
Remember, I am not “taking over” from any of your existing treating team, I’m adding to it .
Please follow my socials on Instagram (there’s a few posts below) or FaceBook and share, tag and save - this helps spread the evidence to others
Here’s what some of the participants who have completed the workshop have said in feedback:
“ I found the workshop lessons clear and helpful”
“I love that the workshop also talks about pain problems - I have a way forward now for both”
“Thanks Dr Ruth for your clear instructions”
“Thanks for not over complicating things”
Next step: after you have purchased the workshop and worked through the lessons, please email me with any feedback -I want to keep improving the workshop lessons.
See you inside for better #BoneHealth,
Kindest regards,
Ruth

2. This is my 10 Hour Intensive CPD Pathway for Clinicians wanting: Behaviour Change + Psychologically informed Communication + Metabolic Bone Health +Pain for Mastery of Complexity
#BoneScience is where #PainScience was twenty years ago. Back then, complex pain clients were only seen in chronic pain units.
In due course, I firmly believe patients experiencing metabolic bone problems will be treated from a whole person perspective by every PT/EP who has undergone metabolic bone training. The B.O.N.E.S framework training will follow the clinician.
The intensive 10 Hour CPD Clinical Mastery course I offer covers not only bone metabolism information and a pain aware approach, but is specifically underpinned by advanced behavioural science, which was the basis of my PhD.
The course includes extensive communication training including:
The importance of acceptability
A whole person assessment method
CBT in practice
Effective use of motivational interviewing
Use of the ARCS model (Acknowlede, Respect, Curiosity and Support)
Proper use of teach back
Socratic style
Dealing with complex and difficult clients.
Integrating B.O.N.E.S into normal practice (Behaviour, Osteogenic loading, Nutritional adequacy, environment, Systems)
It is this clinical communication mastery training that my mentees have sought from me for the past decade.
I am not trying to replace any existing loading systems or branded programs.
I believe the differentiator is the behaviour, implementation and psychologically informed overlay plus broader metabolic nutritional lens.
Further, I am not opening a competing clinic or patient facing service, instead my aim is to support clinicians and rehabilitation systems already in place.
The course is extensive.
There are 72 filmed and written lessons. The lessons could be completed over 10-12 intensive hours, or taken at a slower pace. There are multiple downloads and a GP slide deck for your referrer talks.
You will receive your B.O.N.E.S certificate of completion after passing the course examination. You can attempt the questions multiple times.
If you are curious, but not yet ready for the intensive course, some clinicians have been purchasing the consumer workshop to view how I teach patients experiencing low bone density.
I look forward to meeting you soon and supporting you to become a future metabolic #BoneScience enthusiast.
The skills I teach and your new knowledge immediately can be applied immediately in clinic, across the lifespan.
I also provide email or limited phone support to mentees completing the training.
Kindest regards,
Ruth
